Dhaka weather is characteristically tropical, with hot, humid dry and wet conditions dominating. The city experiences a distinctive monsoonal season from the months of November right through to February.

Dhaka Weather During Summer
Weather in Dhaka during the summer months is characterized by scattered showers, warm temperatures and high humidity levels. Temperatures in the city of Dhaka are lower than in some regions in India, but due to high humidity the heat can often reach levels uncomfortable to humans, especially to those not accustomed to the peculiarities of Dhaka weather. Average annual temperatures are around 28 °C with monthly averages at 20 °C in January and 32 °C in May.

During the main rainy season which is at its most apparent and fierce from the months of June to September the muggy dampness is a permanent feature on Dhaka weather for the whole of the whole of the season, but the heat is rarely dangerous. Due to the overcast cloudiness of the rainy season, average daily sunlight hours are at a minimal between June and September, with the sun perched up on the sky for roughly four hours per day, varying from six to eight hours per day for the rest of the year.

Almost 80% of the annual average precipitation of 1,854 millimeters occurs between May and September. High and ever increasing air and water pollution deriving from traffic congestion and industrial waste are serious problems affecting the public health and quality life span of the city and its locals.

Precipitation from the months September to November is less consistent; extremely heavy at times it is also frequently associated with violent tropical cyclones that develop over the Bay of Bengal. Storm waves and sea surges raise the water level along the coast at times.
